Printing
Printer says offline? A practical checklist
Work through connection, queue and device checks in order.
1. Check the connection
For USB printers, reseat the cable. For network printers, confirm the printer is connected to the expected network.
2. Check printer status
Open Windows printer settings and confirm the intended printer is selected.
3. Clear stuck jobs
Review the queue and remove jobs that are clearly stuck.
4. Restart devices
Power-cycle the printer and restart Windows.
5. Check drivers
Use the printer manufacturer's official support resources to verify the correct driver.
Safety reminder: Never provide passwords, payment details or remote access to an unknown person responding to a browser warning.
